Studio classes at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. The Gallery is the ideal place for children to explore visual culture and express their own creative vision. Island Blue offers a series of art workshops during July and August for kids ages 6-16. CHURCH CAMPS

Capernwray Harbour Bible Centre provides a stunning island setting for summer retreats and conference events. In May and June, school groups enjoy the challenge of participating in the outdoor education packages that Capernwray offers. Central Baptist Church Kingdom Quest Summer Day Camp. This affordable day camp is located near downtown Victoria. The Lux Mundi Summer Program at Christ Church Cathedral School is all about providing a safe and exciting summer for your child. Kate Rubin Theatre & Drama Studio offers young people with a dramatic interest or passion a series of exciting summer camps to creatively explore and develop their skills. Kaleidoscope Performing Arts Studio; Craigflower Historical School House Summer Theatre Camp. Kaleidoscope Theatre, in partnership with The Land Conservancy, offers students an amazing opportunity to play and learn in the oldest surviving schoolhouse in Canada. Screen Actors Studio (est. 1980) offers a variety of year-round programs for young actors. In addition to the Conservatory program which is a comprehensive, three-tiered program for ages 8-15 and designed to develop in young actors the skills needed to approach a career in the competitive fields of film and television, there are also advanced continuing study programs including the Film Team for ages 13-18 plus week-long camps during the spring and summer breaks. Established in 1980, STAGES offers a non-competitive and nurturing atmosphere in which students off all ages and levels of experience are able to learn about the performing arts and themselves. Through the summer, STAGES has three different offerings for toddlers to teens. We have part-day, week-long youth and preschool programs running through July and August. Victoria Conservatory of Music Junior String Academy, August 23-27, 9am-12pm. Karen Murdoch, therapeutic tutor. Summer is a great time for a student to get a “leg up” on their academics. While other children are not in school, a struggling student can learn a great deal and return to school in September with greater confidence and increased self-esteem. St. Margaret’s School Japanese Culture, Language & Recreational Programme. Weekdays July 23-August 5, 9am-4:30pm. For girls in Grades 6-10. South Island Centre for Counselling and Training is offering a one-week, intensive Family Systems Training course from July 5-9 at their offices at the corner of Cedar Hill Rd and Cedar Hill X-Rd. Participants gain a better understanding of relationship patterns and how one can contribute to greater health at home, work, or in community organizations. The Victoria READ Society has two options for summer learning, led by professional teachers. In our Noisy Kids Reading Club, children practice reading scripts aloud. In our individualized classes, students work to address skill gaps in reading, writing and mathematics. FUN Camps Eco Superheroes

Since 1995 the Marine Adventure Program at Glenlyon-Norfolk School has specialized in running 5-6 day sea kayak camps for teens and youth. All camps have a maximum group size of 10 and provide creative instruction in the necessary skills in paddling, safety, marine travel, navigation, marine life and more.
